Help & Info about Microsoft Word: Write Edit Share Docs on the Go for android

  • Does this version only work for the Android?

This version of Microsoft Word only works for Android devices. If you want this word processor for your PC, then you low have to buy Microsoft Office software, and if you want it for your Apple device, then you will need to purchase a different software program
  • Why do so many online reviews complain about its usability?

The Android version of Microsoft Word is not very well optimized. For example, if you open up multiple windows, then the nav bar disappears and you have to close documents in order to find the others you had open.
  • Is it a productivity or note-taking app?

It can be used as a productivity app or even a note-taking app, but it really shines as a document editing app. Load up a document while you are on the go and start editing.
  • Can it be used as a collaborative tool?

It is not a very good collaborative tool because it doesn't have the same collaborative features that other writing tools have such as Google Docs.
  • How come my documents do not open correctly anymore?

You may wish to try the “Clear Data” and “Clear Cache” options to start with. You may also reset the app by going to “Settings” to “Apps” or “Applications” and select your Word application. From that menu, you will be able to reset your app.
  • Will this app work on a tablet PC?

If the mobile version of your Microsoft Word app doesn't work on your tablet PC, then try the desktop version of this app. There appears to be a blurred line between what is considered mobile and what is considered desktop, especially with laptops that double over as tablets.
  • Why won't the Microsoft Word app open?

The biggest reason why it will not open is because it needs updating. Try running an update to see if that fixes the problem. If you cannot update the app, then uninstall it and then install a new version of the app.
  • Can it be used as reading software?

Microsoft Word has borrowed functionalities from Amazon Kindle devices that allows you to change the background of your documents from white to black or sepia, which helps to turn your Android device into a document reader.
  • Is there an iOS version of Microsoft Word?

Yes, but you will need to make sure you download the correct version. If you download the app from the same place, then make sure you are downloading the correct version. As mentioned earlier, if you have a hybrid device that works as a laptop and a tablet, then there is a chance you will need the desktop version of Word.
